CHRIS HEINY

Born in 1971 in Freiburg / Breisgau, Chris Heiny is now a professional drummer and freelance drum teacher in Berlin. For more than 25 years, Chris has been an active member of the rock and pop music scene in Germany as a drummer and percussionist.

A classical music education and seminars at the Future Music School in Aschaffenburg were followed by workshops and master classes with Gary Cheaffey, Will Calhoun, Udo Dahmen, Gregg Bisonette, Thomas Lang, René Kramer, Claus Hessler and a few more.

Chris Heiny's CV includes numerous tours, TV appearances, live gigs and studio recordings with bands and projects such as Bosse, Tom Lüneburger, Mariannenplatz, Joachim Deutschland, Leichtmatrose, Rocky Horror Show, Jamilia, Stefan Krawczeck, Peter Wiegand, Beat Olympic and Silly, The Voice of Germany.

His ten-year stint with the Blue Man Group took him to Oberhausen, Stuttgart, Basel, Zurich, Stockholm, Vienna and Berlin.

With the drumming trio Playmobeat he has realised his dream of his own drum project. The three drummers are well-known in the international drumming scene and through their self-produced videos on Youtube.

Currently Chris is holding the drumsticks at Bosse, Blue Man Group and Playmobeat.

Chris is an endorser for Gretsch drums, Paiste cymbals, Gibraltar Hardware and Remo heads.
